Hello! My name's Tim, and I'm a web designer and developer from Leicestershire. I specialise in client-side development and user-experience design.
After volunteering in Zambia, working for Rainbow Africa during my gap year, I am currently in my second year of studying Computer Science (BSc Honours) at De Montfort University in Leicester.
Fancy Dress Shack sells a large range of fancy dress costumes and accessories. They needed a redesign of their existing Facebook tabs to connect with their fans and encourage users to visit Fancy Dress Shack's website.
The project involved everything from design to code (Photoshop, HTML/CSS, PHP) and was completed within two weeks.
The goal of this project was to learn how to develop themes for the WordPress platform. I set myself the task of creating a theme for photographers with a portfolio to showcase their work.
The WordPress Codex is quite extensive, so this was an ideal solution to learn the various 'ins-and-outs' of the CMS. I can now fully develop themes for WordPress.
This was the second version of my portfolio website. It was designed from scratch in Photoshop and coded into HTML/CSS in less than two days.
After being online for over a year, and generating lots of work, the site is now archived as I felt I needed a more professional appearance.
Chef Patron is a restaurant based in Leicestershire. I was approached by the manager to design and create a website for the restaurant, set up a newsletter and keep the various pages up to date.
Unfortunately, the business changed hands and the new owners had their own web developer take over. It is now archived on my server and can be viewed from the link above.
Project OS X is an online community with just under 50,000 registered users. Its primary focus is based around Apple's Mac OS X operating system.
The project was purely design based. I handed over a sliced Photoshop design to the developer, who then coded it into an Invision Power Board forum template.
Anti-Pressure Pillows manufacture and distribute a range of orthopaedic and beauty pillows internationally.
The project covered logo design (vectorised in Adobe Illustrator), web design (Photoshop), and conversion into HTML/CSS.
I have been playing around with all things web-related since 2003 but only started professionally designing for the web and print industry two years ago. Since then, I’ve had the chance to work for many companies, including ADL Consulting and Williams Commerce.
I focus on modern design - my aim is to make the world wide web a more creative place. I am a keen supporter of W3C web standards and always code with cross-browser support in mind.
I am a rare breed (or so I’ve been told!). Without trying to sound too big-headed, let me tell you why... Not only can I create beautiful designs - I actually have the technical inclination to fully implement them also.
To have a full understanding of the current limitations of the web industry means I can properly design and achieve what you (or your client) are looking for, whilst preparing for future expansion and new technologies.
